This is what it is all about! Last night was the final step to the students livestock projects, McKean County Fair Junior Livestock Sale. Students interacted with buyers, networked with community members, and made lasting connections! All the hardwork paid off with all Otto-Eldred FFA animals selling for over $25,300! We cannot be more grateful for everyone who came out to support our students. A special thanks to Sarah Beaver for the pictures!

Thank you to our 2026 FFA buyers and investing in our students!

6:00 PM - McKean County Fair Junior Livestock

Our students have been out making connections with members in our community to try and find buyers. Buyers are important to help support our students projects! In total, we will have 1 steer, 12 pigs, and 3 lambs participating in the fair for our chapter!

Interested in being a buyer to support McKean County FFA and 4H livestock projects? Preregistration can be found here:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdBFe3A5rrro6ysbNdSSjnR_dLn1tTffMi7TQfsMeVFoClikQ/viewform

There is 1 feeder class pig and 2 feeder class lambs that unfortunately did not make the minimum weight to participate in the livestock auction. These students have worked hard on their projects and are now eagerly looking for a buyer. If you are interested, please reach out to Mr. Witmer or Mrs. Gould.

Don’t forget to check out some of our displays that we have around the fairgrounds too! Including our Rustic Duck Display in the wildlife building!

Our students are all moved into the fair! We are excited for a fun week of our students competing in a variety of competitions. Check out some pictures from today of our students with their livestock projects from throughout the year. All their hard work comes down to this week!

The Rustic Duck will also be open every night at the fair selling their products!

Check out the comments for our schedule this week and the flyer for the livestock sale! If you are a local organization, business, or individual interested in supporting a student, please consider being a buyer! After purchase, you can select a local processor, donate the animal to the local food bank, or give to the buy back program.

Next week, is the McKean County Fair! A number of our students will be active throughout the week at a variety of different events and competitions. Our 4H, FFA, and some of the hardest working youth of McKean County would love to see you there showing your support. We would especially appreciate your support Thursday night at the livestock sale. The sale helps our students projects come full circle and having our community there to support them means so much. If you’re a local business or interested buyer who would like to support our students, check out the flyer in the comments!

Be sure to follow the page throughout the week for updates and to see what our students are up to at the fair!

Some of our officers traveled to Central PA Institute of Science and Technology to attend Congressman GT Glenn Thompson’s annual Agriculture Summit. Our students were able to interact with some of the top industry leaders from across the state related to forestry, fuel, and fiber.

We want to give a special thank you to the individuals who took extra time to speak with our students and make their day even more meaningful and impactful. Thank you to GT, PA Secretary of Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding, USDA Rural Development State Director Chris Hoffman, Dean of the Penn State College of Agriculture Science Dr. Troy Ott, and the Pennsylvania FFA State Officers!

This year, our 3 chapter delegates were selected by their committees to hold leadership roles within their committee.

Alexis Prince, Committee Chair.

Congratulations to this year’s Honorary Keystone State Degree recipients of the Pennsylvania FFA. A special congratulations to our very own, Stacy Gould. Mrs. Gould is our Ag Education Para at Otto-Eldred and is the backbone of the program. Without her hard work, dedication, and continuous support, we would not be able to operate like we do. Thank you to all that you do for our FFA members and those that you influence. Congratulations Mrs. Gould!
