Make it a habit to dispose of batteries properly.

Batteries and battery containing devices should never be placed in your recycling bin or household trash. Batteries, many of which are embedded in, and not removable from consumer products, allow devices to go “wireless”. The batteries also pose a significant fire risk to solid waste vehicles, and solid waste and recycling facilities when they are improperly disposed of.

DMASWA has placed special collection containers at the following locations to offer a convenient way to recycle batteries, tablets, phones, and cords.
City of Dubuque Municipal Services Center, 925 Kerper Court
Steve's Ace Hardware, Locust Street
Dubuque County Library – Asbury Branch, 5290 Grand Meadow Drive
Dubuque County Library – Peosta NICC Branch, 8242 NICC Drive
Dyersville City Hall – 340 1st Ave East, Dyersville

If you have folders and backpacks left over from previous years, reuse them again this school year. Look through your drawers for a supply of pens and pencils instead of buying all new ones.
