Technical Tuesday!
Just wanted to share a few helpful tips on one of my favorite exercises the sumo deadlifts.
• 🦶foot position varies from person to person but a good starting point is feet past shoulder width with toes flared out pointing to the top of a standard 45lb plate.
• 👏hand position on the bar is typically placed below the shoulder (I do double over grip but you may do alternate)
• 🔑 tip is to generate tension and how I like to explain it as pulling the slack out of the bar and setting the hips down and roll the shoulders back to keep it all together. By creating the tension we can more effectively pull the weight off the floor and do it safely.
•Lastly as you reach the top avoid leaning back or overextending. This extra movement will affect your lower back and is unnecessary to the lift, instead hip thrust into the bar and keep bar close to the body.
There are many other helpful tips not mentioned but always practice safe lifts and don’t be afraid to ask for help!!! 🏋️♂️🏋️♀️🏋️💪

If you like dinosaurs, make sure you don’t neglect your”tricep”-atops 🦖🦕!
How I like to perform the tricep extension with a rope is:
•Lean over slightly and letting the hips come back
• Pull downwards before pulling the rope apart
• lastly to have the knuckles face the floor as you pull apart. Add a slight pause at the end of the pull for extra spice.

If you’ve been living under a rock, the barbell hip thrust is one heck of a exercise for the glutes.
Some tips to get the most out of this one:
•Tuck the chin to avoid hyper extending your back
• Keeping a flat back and moving the hips and back together
• Lastly actually squeezing your cheeks, think you got the winning lottery ticket between your butt, hold on for dear life

Post morning cardio protein smoothie🚴
PB vanilla banana oats smoothie
1 scoop HTLT protein powder
1 cup oat milk (or any milk you desire)
1/2 banana
1/2 cup of old fashioned oats
Few ice cubes
Smidge of vanilla extract
