Senior Spotlight - Olivia Hirsch
Class of 2024 - Winds & Jazz Studies

Olivia has been accepted by Cal State Long Beach, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State L.A, Cal State Northridge and will be attending Cal State Fullerton's School of Music as a music education major.

Favorite Conservatory Memory: Getting to play in the pit orchestra and getting a unique experience playing in super fun shows and making more memories.

Words of Advice for Incoming IM Students:
Once you enter your junior or senior year, l highly recommend trying to get a practice block. It will definetly help with personal practice and it's also a great opportunity to work on music for school!

Senior Spotlight - Lucas Vocelka
Class of 2024 - Winds & Jazz Studies

Lucas was accepted at UCsD, UCSB, Ucsc, Cal State LA, Cal State Fullerton, Cal Poly Pomona, SDSU, Cal State Northridge and has decided to attend college at UCSD for a major in Cognitive Science and hopeful music minor or major.

Favorite IM Conservatory Memory: Playing in the pit at All-School Musicals and Season Finales.

What he will miss most about CArts-SGV: The atmosphere and the people who all share similar interests.

Words of Advice for Incoming IM Students:
Explore, and take opportunities as you find them.
The school has so much to offer and you only miss out on things you don't try.

Senior Spotlight - Niko Spinella
Winds & Jazz Studies - Class of 2024

In the Fall, Niko will be attending Citrus College's ADN - Registered Nursing Program.

Favorite Conservatory Memory: Being in the pit for Chicago in 2022 when someone brought a mini basketball hoop and on breaks we would go and play.

What will you miss about CArts? | will miss having all of the opportunities to play so many shows each year. I will also miss all of my friends and Mr. McGeough.

Advice for Incoming IM Students: Learn how to put your stands away and use a tuner!

Senior Spotlight - Vincent Strivings (Strings & Orchestra Program)

Vincent will be attending California Baptist University this coming fall to study music and potentially architecture or applied mathematics.

Favorite IM Memory: "It's really hard to say what my favorite memory is in all my time at IM, I've had many magical moments there over the years. What's been amazing for me is always being surrounded by dedicated musicians and seasoned professionals who're always trying to point me in the right direction. My favorite memories at IM have been the performances, getting to see everything come together so nicely in the end is always fulfilling."

What will you miss most about CSArts? - “Who I will miss most are my teachers, specifically my conservatory directors, Mr. McGeough and Dr.
Ward and not having their guidance will be scary, out in the real world.”

TONIGHT Sunday, April 21st - Jazz Jam at The Pour House in Monrovia

A “House Band” of CSArts faculty will begin the performance. CSArts-SGV School of Music students are invited to select a jazz standard and perform it with the band. Faculty will facilitate the rotation of band members so everyone who would like to sing or play gets to. BYO chart/lead sheet and instrument. Come enjoy food, drink, and music performed by CSArts community members.

School of Music: Battle of the Bands is happening in the CSArts Quad this weekend!

The fifth annual CSArts Battle of the Bands will feature 12 student bands competing to get their band name permanently engraved on the CSArts-SGV Perpetual Battle of the Bands trophy! An esteemed guest panel will judge the competition. Be sure to bring your lawn chair and join us for a fun night of live music!

The Ballet and Contemporary Dance Conservatory, Instrumental Music Conservatory, and Vocal Arts Conservatory present the second annual combined program. This concert will feature over 120 student performers presenting a collaborative performance of Beethoven's Fantasia in C minor. Each conservatory will also present selections of repertoire individually.
