Mrs. Morris' Introduction to Teaching students had the assignment of taking a "Boring Lesson" and making it more engaging. They learned about different engagement strategies and applied them to their lessons. Students then had to teach their lessons to their peers in the class. They taught for the full 45 mintues and some students even had to finish their lessons up on the next day. They planned and executed every part of their lesson plan! Way to go!!

🌟It was a Glow Day in Intro to Teaching! 🌟 Students completed their end of the year reflections and then played jeopardy over what they learned this year! Their futures are bright! 😎

This week, our Introduction to Teaching students finished up their classroom observations. They've gotten the opportunity to work in many different classrooms at the elementary and middle school throughout the school year. During this semester they were in one classroom two days a week helping out, working with students, and getting hand-ons on experience. The goal was for them to work towards teaching a lesson to the class by the end of the year. We are happy to report that all of our Intro to Teaching students taught a lesson on their own and some of them even taught multiple times! These students not only helped in the classrom but they also got to assist on filed trips and other school activities. We are so proud of them and all of their hard work! Thank you Du Quoin Elementary School and DuQuoin Middle School for allowing our students to come in and learn from you!

A program at DuQUoin High School is trying to help more students get a head start on a teaching degree. Something that can help continue the positive news towards reducing the teacher shortage.

Today was our 2nd Annual Signing Day for our future educators! ❤️🍎 We are so proud of all of them and can't wait to see all that they accomplish!

Each future teacher was presented with a Golden Ticket, securing a guaranteed interview following graduation.

A big thank you to the families, students, teachers, administrators and community members who came and showed their support for our future educators!

Today, our EdRising students had a great day job shadowing at Carterville Intermediate School and Tri-C Elementary! We had the opportunity to tour both schools, observe in classrooms, and even participate with students throughout the day. It was such a valuable learning experience for our future educators to see different classrooms, teaching styles, and school environments in action.

A huge thank you to the teachers and administrators at both schools for welcoming us into your buildings and allowing our students to learn from you. We truly appreciate your time, kindness, and willingness to share what makes your schools so special!
