Congratulations to Mr. Young, one of our JD boys 7/8 coaches! Today we honor a member of our community who has brought
that exact same fire to our hallways since the very first day he
arrived. It is my honor to present the Saint Paul Award for Zeal to
Mr. Young.
Mr. Young has a heart for service. Zeal is often found in the
small, consistent moments, and Mr. Young masters those every
day. At the beginning of the day, he greets you with a warm smile
and asks how you are doing. When you are heading out at the
end of the day, he wishes you to have a great rest of your day,
always with a genuine smile. He has a unique gift for making
every student and teacher feel seen and valued. He doesn’t just
pass you by; he stops, he listens, and he helps.
Zeal is also about growth. Saint Paul told us to “fan into flame the
gift of God,” and we have watched Mr. Young do exactly that.
While he joined us as a para-educator, we have watched him
transform before our eyes. His dedication to his students and his
passion for learning have seen him grow into a stronger, more confident educator with
every passing month. He doesn’t just “show up” for work; he pursues excellence because
he cares about the success of every child in this building.
Mr. Young, thank you for your “yes” to our school. Thank you for your energy, your
kindness, and for showing us all what it looks like to live with a heart on fire for others.
