Coach Kenny's Background....
High School:
Kenny received many individual accolades including All-League, All-County and All-State selections in his first 3 years at Phillipsburg High School in New Jersey. In his senior year, after a transfer to Abington Heights High School in PA, Kenny scored the decisive fifth PK to put the school through to it's first ever state playoff birth. He then helped
guide them to the semi-finals, knocking off two nationally ranked opponents on the way. College:
Kenny entertained several Division I offers to play in college, but opted instead to focus on education. After several family moves, Kenny landed at Bucks County Community College where he helped as player/coach to put the program on the map. In his first year, Kenny lead a team that blew away all expectations by qualifying for its first ever playoff birth, and losing 2-1 in a highly contested semi-final against perennial Junior College power house Manor. In his second year he captained the program to its first ever EPCC Championship, and his second straight All-Junior College selection. Again he received offers to play division I, and again turned them down. Professional:
After a two year break from playing, Kenny tried out for both D.C. United and the Philadelphia Union. At the United tryout, out of 3,000 participants he made it to the final 30 but was dismissed at the final cut. He has since taken on coaching as his passion. Coaching background:
At age 16 Kenny began coaching camps and clinics under his mentor Len Bilous, a former professional player, NISL Coach of the year (Harrisburg Heat), and Ukrainian National Team Staff Coach. As a long time player under Bilous, Kenny naturally adopted his "Vision Training System" which emphasizes players decision-making, intelligence and vision on the field. Since then, Kenny has taken the knowledge he has gained from playing and coaching, and combined it with his passion for the game and kids to try and elevate the skill and intelligence of players at the youth level. He has patented his own unique style of coaching that is fun and energetic without lacking in focus and discipline. Kenny has been a trainer with PA Rush for 5 years doing anything from training teams, to hosting camps and clinics such as: the Player Development Program, Winter Academy, and Friday Night Finishing. He has recently taken on the role as Director of Youth Development, working to enhance the training of players within the club at the youngest ages. He brings an energy and creative way of thinking about the game that is unique and fun for players. He has also worked with Lil' Kickers Child Development Program for 4 years. He regards his time in the program as priceless in that it taught him valuable lessons on the best ways to teach children of all different ages, skill levels, learning abilities and backgrounds. Kenny has achieved a National D license and plans to achieve his "C" license in the coming months. He also plans to attain his National Youth Coaching Certificate soon.
