I’m opening a few spots for new piano students this summer! I pride myself on my affordability and availability, flexible in both timing and pricing. I teach all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, youth to adults. I am well-versed in all styles of piano, including classical, jazz, contemporary, musical theater, and more. Throughout my career, I've performed in concerts, pit orchestras, weddings, parties, and studio recording sessions. I have 10 years of professional piano experience and have been playing for over 20 years.

I have an in-home studio for lessons, or I can travel to you for your convenience.

In addition to piano, I also tutor Music Theory for those in classes or just wanting to improve their musical knowledge.

In addition to the mainstage productions, Servant Stage also has a mission to support youth theater. I am so grateful for the opportunity to help these students grow in their musical ability and confidence.

This summer, I am the audition accompanist for every youth camp at Servant Stage, sight-reading music from a variety of styles and shows. It has been so rewarding to help these young performers give their best in the audition and to see how far they’ve come by the end of the week during their performances.

This week, I was able to participate in my first full week of youth camp, stepping into the role of Assistant Music Director for Disney’s Moana Jr. I have enjoyed being able to personally work with these students and watch their growth, and to work with the talented production team.

Next month, I’ll be stepping into the role of Music Director for the youth camp production of Singin’ in the Rain Jr. This has always been one of my mom’s favorites, so I know you’ll see her at every performance. Looking forward to working on this timeless musical!

I’m now accepting new students for private piano and music theory lessons, and I’d love to work with you or your child!

Whether you're just starting out or looking to sharpen your skills, I teach all ages and experience levels, children, teens, and adults. I offer lessons that are supportive, fun, and completely tailored to each student’s goals and learning style. I would love to help you focus on building skills like rhythm, sight reading, and improvisation, in addition to proper technique and musical proficiency. I have very flexible scheduling, with availability during the day, evenings, and weekends. I am currently located in Downingtown, PA, and moving to Honey Brook next year.

Alongside piano, I also teach music theory, which is one of my biggest passions. I love helping people understand how music works and making theory click in a way that makes sense for them. If theory has ever felt confusing or intimidating, I promise it doesn’t have to be!

I’ve been playing piano for 20 years and working as a professional musician for the past decade. My lessons are affordable and flexible. I have experience with every genre of music, from Jazz, pop, and contemporary to worship and classical, whatever you want to learn is achievable! I am so grateful to my teacher, Julie Blackstone, who got me to where I am today. I want to apologize to her for not practicing as much as I should have!

This summer has been continually rewarding working with Servant Stage, a Lancaster-based theatre company with the goal of serving the community at its core. Their mission is centered around bringing high-quality, pay-what-you-will theater to the community, something that I highly respect. It has been a privilege to contribute to this team, and I am so excited for the opportunities that are still to come.

One of the projects I have been working on this summer is Swing! This is the first mainstage Servant Stage show I have been asked to music direct. I have the privilege of serving as the Music Director, Band Leader, and Pianist for this high-energy show. From teaching complex vocal harmonies and cueing the band, to fine-tuning the sound and playing the keys, this project has been a fantastic experience. It’s also been a pleasure to share the stage with my brother, Will, and his fiancée Jacqui! We have more performances featuring the full band coming up in August, so reserve your tickets now!

Back in March, I had the privilege of playing Laurie in Little Women the Musical at Immaculata University . This was my second production with the university as a hired performer, and it was an honor to step into such a classic role.

This show was especially meaningful because I got to share the experience with my fiancée, Abby, who crushed it as both part of the stage management team and the head of props.

Huge thanks to the cast, crew, production team, and everyone at Immaculata for trusting me with this role and for putting together such a strong production. It’s been great to stay active in the musical theater scene while continuing to compose and perform in other projects.

Welcome to my new page! My name is Marshall Lentz, and I am a professional pianist, composer, arranger, music director, music producer, and piano teacher local to Chester and Lancaster Counties, Pennsylvania. With two decades of piano experience, I specialize in providing accompaniment, composing original music, collaborating with artists, teaching piano students, and helping others grow musically. I provide professional piano accompaniment services, playing live or prerecording for any event in your life - from weddings to family parties to auditions. I am a composer and arranger, able to create and collaborate on different projects. I have been contracted by multiple local theatre companies to compose original scores to enhance theatrical experiences. I also have a passion for helping others grow musically, teaching several private piano students, and am available to take on more. I am a music director for professional and student productions. I have worked with American Music Theater, Media Theater, Servant Stage, Revival Productions, Barley Sheaf Players, and more. I have all my clearances up to date.
