I visited FRC 1640 (Team Sab-BOT-age) at its home at the Exton Square Mall this evening. A sad visit, as we're packing everything up to leave the Mall, which has been sold and will be demolished. Downingtown Area Robotics has been here for eight (8) years and we've expanded our youth robotics program enormously over this time, occupying three adjacent store fronts one each for FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and FIRST LEGO League (FLL). This has been a very good home for us. We're still searching for a new home.

While the 7th alliance was eliminated during Milstein playoffs, FRC 1640 received the Quality Award.

FRC 1640 finished qualifications ranked #10 in Milstein Division and became the 7th alliance captain. Teams 4476, 2630 and 287 complete the 7th alliance.

Video of FMA Championship Qualification Match 40 (of 132): Red Teams 1218 (SCH Robotics), 1640 (Sab-BOT-age) and 303 (The T.E.S.T. Team) versus Blue Teams 365 (Miracle Workerz), 100979 (Tiger Robotics) and 423 (Simple Machines). The first 20 seconds of action is autonomous (no drivers), followed by 2 minutes; 20 seconds of driver-controlled competition. The Red alliance won the match 363 - 170. Hand-held video without any image stabilization.

FRC 1640 (Team Sab-BOT-age) is going to the World Championship in Houston! 1640 finished qualifications ranked 13th (in a field of 66). 1640 completed the 7th alliance with FRC 11 MORT and FRC 272 Cyber Crusaders. The 7th alliance went on to defeat the 2nd and 4th alliances, thereby making it into "semifinals". FRC 1640 also won the Excellence in Engineering Award. Downingtown Area Robotics (DAR) hosted its 13th FLL (FIRST LEGO League) Regional Qualifying Tournament Saturday. 24 teams attended - 12 of the teams were DAR FLL teams. Things ran smoothly.
