Through the masterclasses, participants learn how to:
🛍️ Choose and refine a product or service
đź’µ Price their work and manage money
🗣️Market their business and develop a pitch
🎨Design an inviting, aesthetically pleasing booth
👋🏼Interact with customers and collect payments
đź‘Ą Practice collaboration and confidence within a real-life cohort

What if children don’t need another wellbeing lesson—but an environment that supports their wellbeing every day? 🌱

Mindfulness, resilience, emotional regulation, and coping strategies can all be valuable. But before we ask children to regulate, belong, feel confident, or learn, we have to consider what their environment is asking of them.

Do they feel safe?
Do they feel known and accepted?
Do they have opportunities to move, play, explore, and make mistakes?
Do they have trusted adults who understand their behavior and see their strengths?
Do they feel like they belong?

Because wellbeing isn’t something we can simply schedule for 30 minutes on a Friday afternoon.

It lives in the culture we create.
In how we speak to children.
In how we respond to behavior.
In whether differences are welcomed.
In whether children have space to be curious, creative, playful, and human.

Maybe the question isn’t, “What wellbeing program should we add?”

Maybe it’s, “What kind of environment are we creating for children to thrive?” 💛

At Ellemercito, we believe in meeting the human first, then teaching the skills.

What if education made room for the experiences children need to truly thrive?
At Ellemercito, our model is shaped by Projects, Passions, Peers & Play—inspired by the work of learning researcher Mitch Resnick and refined through years of building a deeply learner-centered hybrid homeschool experience.

Our learners spend focused time developing strong academic foundations, while meaningful experiences are intentionally woven throughout the rhythm of their day.

That can look like robotics, CPR and life-saving skills, performing arts, culinary arts, entrepreneurship, nature-based learning, Spanish, public speaking, and hands-on creation.

These experiences are not separate from the learning. They are part of how children discover interests, build confidence, develop practical skills, collaborate with others, and make deeper connections to the world around them.

At Ellemercito, academics, creativity, real-world skills, curiosity, relationships, and community are designed to work in harmony.

We take a whole-child approach because meaningful learning happens when children are supported not only academically, but also socially, creatively, emotionally, and practically.

✨ We want our learners to discover what lights them up. We want them to follow their curiosity, develop their gifts, and experience the joy that comes from learning something they genuinely care about.

But we also know that life won’t always ask us to do what feels exciting.

🌱 Sometimes growth looks like practicing the skill that doesn’t come easily. Finishing the task we’d rather avoid. Staying with something long enough to move from frustration to understanding.

Part of education is helping young people learn the difference between “this isn’t for me” and “this is hard for me right now.”

We want our learners to know themselves well enough to pursue what brings them alive, while also building the perseverance, responsibility, and confidence to do what is necessary.

Self-directed learning doesn’t mean children are left to figure everything out on their own. 🌿
It starts with a simple question:
What does your child care about?
What are they curious about?
What are they drawn to?
What makes them want to learn more?

From there, self-directed learning is supported by structure, guidance, resources, community, and accountability.

At Ellemercito, we believe children should have the freedom to pursue genuine interests — while being surrounded by adults who can help open doors, provide opportunities, connect them with resources, and encourage follow-through. ✨

Because freedom and responsibility belong together.

We want children to pursue what lights them up — and also become the kind of people who can do the things that don’t.

That’s part of what it means to grow into a capable, curious, self-directed learner.

What if school was about more than getting the right answers? 🌱

At Ellemercito, we believe meaningful learning happens when children have the space to wonder, question, create, collaborate, and connect their learning to the world around them.
We’re nurturing more than academic skills. We’re helping children grow as:

We’re so excited to kick off our James and the Giant Peach musical journey this Monday!

If your child would like to participate, please make sure they are registered before we begin. We’d love to have everyone who is interested join us!

🎬 A Quick Note About Auditions

To help students feel prepared and confident, please take some time to review the audition materials before Monday.

Students should:
* Review the audition sides, which are grouped by character
* Choose the character they would like to audition for
* Prepare a **30-second to 1-minute song** to have ready for auditions

Monday | 2:30–4:30 PM

We want students to come in feeling prepared rather than caught off guard, so taking a little time to look over the materials beforehand will be helpful. đź’›
