A year ago, this captured the beginning of something I believed could make a difference. Sometimes it’s easy to focus on everything that’s still left to build. Then Facebook reminds you to look back and see how far you’ve already come.
These were the first students I had the opportunity to work with through The HBCU Planner. Today, all three are in college. Two at HBCUs, and one earned more than $400,000 in private scholarships AND a full ride to Spelman College. 💙🩵
This work is about opening doors, building confidence, and helping students see what’s possible for themselves.
Over the past year, The HBCU Planner has grown from a planner into a community. We’ve expanded our resources, traveled to HBCUs across the country, connected with hundreds of families, and now we’re entering our next chapter.
✨ Registration is officially open for the Senior Success Cohort, our year-long program designed to guide seniors through applications, scholarships, deadlines, essays, and every step from senior year to college acceptance. Every student also receives The HBCU Planner as part of the program. The planner works if you use it, but it's even better when you don't have to do it alone.
Here’s to another year of helping students dream bigger, apply with confidence, and put HBCUs at the top of their college list.
