Boston’s new approach to special education may be leaving out the kids who need it most - The Boston Globe Some parents and educators worry that with Boston schools poised for layoffs, there won’t be enough staff in every classroom to meet the needs of children with more severe disabilities.

The Friends of the Adams Street Branch Library had a book sale today and were able to replenish the little library at the upper school after the sale!
There are some great summer reading books there! Stop by and grab a book! Happy reading! 📚📔

Hi everybody! This is Samantha from Modern Party Art! 🎨✨ I want to introduce something exciting we’re doing for Dorchester families and I am SO passionate about this one.

We are opening our brand new studio right here on Dorchester Ave. and I personally want to make sure our community has access to everything we have to offer — because every kid deserves to create! 🖤💛

So I’m putting together a FREE Community Membership for qualifying low-income households and I need to know if there’s enough interest to make it happen. Here’s what it would include:

🎨 A couple of free days per week at our Summer Art Academy — think summer camp but make it ART, for kids ages 5–12!
🖌️ A couple of free days per week in our After School Program
💛 Discounted rates on any additional days

What is Multicultural Night?
Multicultural Night was once a cherished annual tradition at our school, and we are excited to bring it back! This special evening offers families, staff, and students a chance to celebrate the many cultures that make up our school community.

Through food, displays, performances, activities, and conversations, we will learn about one another's traditions, customs, and experiences while building connections and strengthening our community as we close out the school year.

We invite you to sign up via the provided link to host a cultural table. You may host a table on your own or partner with another family or co-worker. Share your heritage, a country that is meaningful to you, or a culture you would like others to learn about.

If you are unable to host a table but would still like to contribute, we welcome donations of food, cultural items, or your time. Closer to the date, Donations may be dropped off at either campus and should be labeled "Multicultural Night."

Students under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.

Registration is open for the Summer Sports Clinic Series! ☀️🏋️ Don’t miss your chance to get a spot while you can!

The Summer Sports Clinics will begin on July 6, 2026, and run Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Carter Playground. These free weekly sports clinics are open to Boston youth ages 8-14 and will feature popular sports each week, including:

July 6-10: Baseball series
July 13-17: Volleyball series
July 20-24: Soccer series
July 27-31: Lacrosse series
August 3-7: Softball series
August 10-14: BUDA Ultimate Frisbee series

How exciting for our longtime Henderson Family, the Maynards! They are the parents of three children who attended or attend the school. They have been a family of consistency at the school, having matriculated from early childhood thru graduation! We can't wait for the opening! The Henderson staff has witnessed this business grow from the start! :)
