Join us for our Virtual Title I GA Milestones Parent Workshop, where you can learn about the GA Milestones Assessment in ELA, Math, and Science in grades 3-5. During the meeting you will obtain valuable tips on ways to increase your child's reading and comprehension and other strategies to use a home. The workshop will be held on Tuesday April 14, 2026 at 9:00 AM online. The link will be sent at 8:00 AM on the day of the meeting.

This is a reminder that school will be closed for Spring Break from April 6th–April 10th. We encourage all students to continue reading throughout the break to help maintain their skills.

Students will return to school on Monday, April 13th.

We want to inform you that in the absence of Mr. Watkins, we currently have a substitute administrator. Ms. Kilcrease is serving as assistant principal. Ms. Kilcrease is an experienced school leader who is supporting our staff, students, and daily operations to ensure that everything continues to run smoothly. We appreciate your continued support as we work together to maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment for all students.

Here is a brief introduction from Ms. Kilcrease:
Hello, my name is Ms. Mar-De Kilcrease, and I am serving as your substitute administrator. I am a retired Science Educator and Administrator from the DeKalb County School System, with a passion for supporting students, staff, and families. I believe in clear communication, consistency, and creating a positive environment where every child feels valued. I look forward to working with you and your children!

Volunteers Needed!

Please join us this Saturday, March 28th from 8:00-12:00 pm. for our spring campus and garden clean-up.
Grab your gloves and garden tools and come help us give our students a beautiful space for learning! We will be planting flowers and vegetables, spreading mulch, and cleaning up around our campus.
If you have carpentry skills and tools, we have some minor repairs need in our outdoor classroom and gazebo to make them safe and useable. Bring the family on Saturday and help make Hightower beautiful!
