If your 6th - 8th grader is planning on playing baseball or softball this year please swing by on the above dates to sign up, meet the coaches, and get additional information regarding the upcoming season.
The coaches are excited to get on the diamonds and work with the kids and get the season started!
Please make sure your student athlete has an up to date physical by the start of practice.

Below are the requirements for your child who is entering ninth grade for the 2026/2027 school year.

State of Illinois law (School code of Illinois, Section 27-8.1) requires that all children entering ninth grade provide proof of a current physical examination and have all immunizations up to date.

Physical exams completed within a year of the first day of school (August 17, 2026) will meet this requirement. A dental exam is also required, but is strongly recommended for every student at least once a year.

Your child’s physical and up to date immunizations must be submitted to the school no later than October 15, 2026 for your child to be in compliance. This will be strictly enforced, so please schedule your appointments early.
Sports physicals will NOT meet this requirement.

All physicals must be on the standard State of Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination form.

Please note that the medical history at the top of the physical form is to be filled out by the parent/guardian before you see your doctor. The physical will not be accepted by the school unless this section is completed. We appreciate your cooperation in seeing that these requirements are taken care of in time for the 2026/2027 school year. Please contact the school nurse at (217) 438-6817 with any questions.

TRACK INFORMATION:
Mon (3/30): Practice at track after school until 5 pm
Tues (3/31): 2:00 PM dismissal; Home Meet – athletes report to track by 3:30 pm
Wed (4/1): No school; Practice 10:30–11:30 am
Thurs (4/2): No school; Practice 10:30–11:30 am
Fri (4/3): No school; Home Meet – athletes report to track by 3:30 pm

Mon (4/6): No school; Practice 10:30–11:30 AM
Tues (4/7): Practice after school in DIVERNON until 5pm
Wed (4/8): Practice after school at track until 5 pm
Thurs (4/9): Home Meet - athletes ride shuttle after school to track
Fri (4/10): Practice after school at track until 5 pm

We are keeping an eye on the weather for this week, as there is a chance of rain and storms. If we need to change practice locations or cancel a meet, we will send out a message as soon as a decision is made. If you do not receive any communication, please assume everything is proceeding as scheduled.
