HELLO..... You're hiding in plain sight! Consequences are expensive and the most important issue to consider is you are endangering our first responders life! For what? Some cool pictures you can send your friends while incarcerated?

There have been 67 drone incursions reported near wildfires in 2026.

Temporary flight restrictions exist to protect aerial firefighting crews. Every intrusion puts lives at risk. Keep unauthorized drones grounded when wildfires burn.
Flying a drone near an active wildfire could mean thousands of dollars in fines and possible prison time.

Whether pilots are criminal, careless, or simply clueless, the results are the same. If you fly, we can’t. (Forest Service photo by Andrew Avitt.)

Increasing instability and wind shear will lead to some strong to severe thunderstorms across much of central and northern Arizona, mainly this afternoon and evening. Wind gusts to 60 mph and hail to 1 inch diameter will be the main threats.

Update- for Saturday, August 29, at 1130am:

The fire stayed within its footprint overnight with minimal fire activity reported. On Friday, the fire received moderate precipitation and that along with excellent overnight recoveries helped quiet fire activity throughout the evening and into early Saturday morning. Operations reports very minimal smokes showing at this time.

For today, hand crews will continue with their chipping work as part of containment line improvement. They are also mopping up and backhauling all equipment used for structure protection support.

All aerial and hand ignitions have been completed.

The fire is 1,219 acres with 30% containment along the northwest side.

The fire started Sunday, August 23, on Blue Mountain, approximately 5 miles northeast of Bagdad.
