Mini Makers and Me is a place where children (and their families) can splodge paint, squelch clay, explore textures and create a mini masterpiece to take home at the end of each session.

This week my fabulous Arty Explorers based their art on the most sacred bird symbol in the Mayan culture. The Resplendent Quetzal symbolises freedom, life, wealth and spiritual power. We used shape templates to print a colourful background and then used foam shape stickers to create a bird printing block. Fabulous job everyone! ♥️

This week my fabulous Arty Explorers travelled to Mexico to the time of the Aztecs. We used the turquoise covered double headed snake in the British Museum as inspiration for our art. Using glitter paint, oil pastels, sequin tiles and mirror tiles we created our own mosaic serpents! 🐍

It was so lovely to be back at Denbury Primary School with my wonderful Arty Explorers. It was great to see everyone from last year and also to welcome four new faces. This week we travelled back in time to prehistoric times and explored cave art. Using pieces of cork board we added handprints and used pieces of charcoal to add stick figures snd hunting scenes. We were so engrossed in our art I only had time to take photos of a few examples. Fabulous work everyone! 🤩

Today was our last Arty Explorers Club before we break for the summer holidays. We continued our study of Yellena James and her underwater art. Using our bubble painted backgrounds from last week we used sharpies to add colourful coral, seaweed and sea creatures! 🐠🐬🐡🐟
Wishing all my Arty Explorers a very happy summer and I look forward to seeing you in the Autumn for some more creative fun. 🤩
