This is Mrs. Gomez, principal of New Sarpy Elementary, with your Mudbug Memo for the week of August 17–21, 2026! ❤️💙
We had a wonderful start to the school year, and this week our Mudbug family will officially be complete!
🎒 Welcome, Pre-K Mudbugs!
We are so excited to welcome our youngest Mudbugs to school this week!
Monday, August 17: Pre-K students with last names A–K attend their first day.
Tuesday, August 18: Pre-K students with last names L–Z attend their first day.
Wednesday, August 19: ALL Mudbugs will be on campus together! Our New Sarpy family will officially be complete! ❤️
📚 Beginning-of-Year Literacy Testing
Our beginning-of-year DIBELS literacy assessments will begin this week for our first- and second-grade students. These assessments help our educators learn more about each student’s strengths and needs so we can provide the right support from the very beginning of the year.
ID Tags - Student ID tags should be placed on the bottom right of their backpacks using the provided coil only to ensure they can easily access them to scan on the bus or when getting breakfast.
Bus riders - please be aware that routes are still being confirmed and students may be picked up or dropped off earlier or later than usual due to the addition of PreK students this week.
Friday - Spirit Days - Each Friday is Mudbug Spirit Day. All students may wear school-appropriate clothing representing their favorite team, sport or dress in Disney attire to show spirit for this year's theme - "NSE...Where Dreams Begin"!
