What does a Health Info Tech (HIT) professional do?
As an important member of the health care team, they:
• Manage patient health information for hospitals, health care facilities, doctors, and other practitioners,
• Code diagnoses and procedures in patient records for insurance reimbursement and research, and
• Ensure the quality of medical records by verifying completeness and accuracy.
With experience, HIT professionals can advance into administration and office management positions within

Oakton Awards Basic Nurse Assistant Training (BNAT) Certificates to Nearly 80 High School Students
A record number of local high school students have taken their first step toward a rewarding healthcare career by completing Oakton's Basic Nurse Assistant Training (BNAT) early college certificate program. Oakton recognized 78 BNAT completers from five area high schools during a pinning and graduation ceremony – a symbolic welcoming of newly graduated or soon-to-be-graduated nurses into the nursing profession. Congratulations!

CNA Career Day at Oakton Skokie campus today! Our CNA candidates had the opportunity to meet and greet 17 different health care employers in the area to find out about career opportunities. Held twice a year, it is a great experience for both student and employer!
