Dept Commander Jack Hanson and Cadet Nelson at the Armory in Iowa City. I think there were 23 cadets that will be LT's come next week. There may have been 40 Cadet in total. Nelson is attempting to be a Doctor. We sat with Cadet Duff who is a super troop has well. The Program gave us a nice thank you letter with a school patch.

Presidents Day is coming up February 16th. That means its time for our bi-annual fund raising for the local veterans.
Military Order of the Purple Heart, Claude D. Stansberry, Chapter 66 will once again be collecting donations and handing out violas at the South Sioux City Hy Vee and Gordon Drive Hy Vee this Saturday February 14th from 8am to noon. ALL donations do stay local, so please come show your support for our veterans if you're in the area. Or come see me personally if you're not able to make it on Saturday. Thank you all in advance for your support.

Established by George Washington in 1782 as the "Badge of Military Merit," it was redesigned in 1932 to honor sacrifice and signifies courage."

On Wednesday, 21 January 2026, “Veterans on the Hill” happened at the Iowa State Capitol. Both the Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) Commander, Jack Hanson and Iowa Veterans Affairs (IAVA) Commissioner for MOPH, Robert Suesakul were invited with other Service Organizations to the Lt.
