Hello there π
For May, I'm looking for 1-2 people to come in and try out for our AM small group personal training programβοΈ
β‘οΈ Ideally, you can commit to an AM Monday through Friday schedule (anywhere between 5 and 8am), OR you can get missed workouts done on your own time, and send me feedback. I'll be writing everything for you.
β‘οΈ Ideally, your goals involve getting stronger, gaining muscle/losing fat, OR getting into powerlifting (we have all types in our AM crew currently)
My ideal trainee is a hard worker with a positive mindset, but if you're a grouch who needs accountability, I can work with that, too.
We are currently (almost) full, but my hope is to bring two more people on-board in the next couple of months before closing the class enrollment again.
I'm scheduling three-day trials now, so to apply or ask follow-up questions, message me directly. The class is currently filled with badasses, so we must be doing something right π€·

Super easy way to create a bigger spacer if you train on suboptimal equipment. This isn't rocket surgery, guys. ππππ₯π₯π₯

First meet in the books for Valon last weekend, and it started off with the words you never, ever, ever want to hear for a first-time powerlifter--"he needs this to stay in the meet" πππ--but after a couple of early squat hiccups, the rest of this one went smoothly.
We left a fair bit in the tank on squat and deadlift--his third pull of 501 was an all-time PR and 60 pounds over anything we touched in training, but unfortunately it was redlighted due to a soft lockout. But now, with a little competition experience under our belt, we'll build off of this one.
And this prep was accomplished while also losing around 30 pounds. Squat and deadlift (we had to recover from a serious back injury prior to me taking him on as a client) held up well; bench fell off a bit, but that's to be expected.
These first competition experiences are special and it's always an honor to help good new lifters succeed on the platform for the first time π with that said, give it 6 months and we'll turn these lifts into openers.

Want a prolific competition coach? From 2021 to 2025, I've averaged 100 meet entries per year. That's 500 preps handled. I don't sandbag attempts to secure a good success rate for "myself," but I don't set lifters up for failure, either.
Been a minute since I've posted some lifter updates, but we've got some big stuff going on currently. pulled a real nice 635-pound PR this week, after us working together for about 4 months now.
Considering his meet PR's 606, we're looking primed to blow right past that at this point. He's going to jump into a local UPA comp that a couple of my longtime lifters, and , are also doing. I think all three of these guys are primed to do big things π«‘π«‘π«‘
All in all, it's been fantastic across-the-board progress and mostly smooth sailing in training, and I'm real excited to see how the tune-up comp--and the main event comp this summer--turn out!!

Massive congratulations to longtime client of mine Lauren for un-retiring from powerlifting, making her platform return, and heading right back into retirement π«‘, after a successful first USAPL competition:
Squat, 2/3, 303 Comp PR (first meet in sleeves though lol, unfortunately a little downward motion cost us our third!)
Bench, 2/3, 170
Deadlift, 3/3, 336 PR, with plenty left in the tank π€
Powerlifting coaching is tough: you take someone who loathes deadlifting, make them do it occasionally, and they get stronger and hit PRs. Who'd of thought?
In all seriousness, for having taken a LONG break from heavy training prior to this prep, it went phenomenally well. Great lifting technique, smart attempt calls, and a couple close misses away from a truly perfect day
This was our first meet together as athlete and coach despite working together for literal years--my job the first go-round was to help her make weight for the last comp. It makes me happy that we put together a great performance--Kevin the Dog must be so proudβοΈ π

Before the week's up, I wanted to give a quick shout-out to our three new Team member this week π between USAPL Nats and Power Surge Pro this gives us some big goals to pursue in 2026.
It has been an absolute π©show of a week, and it is harder when we have a lot of recent new additions, so books will be closed until April on coaching so I can dot i's and cross t's with coaching, and then I'll reopen from there.
Thanks everyone π«‘ I'm going to go pass out now
