💙 My heart is so full after today. 🎨

Today was one of those days that reminded me exactly why I started Blue Hour Watercolor Workshops.

The morning began at the Grimes Farmers Market, where I had the chance to meet so many wonderful people. While the sales weren’t the highlight, the conversations absolutely were. Every connection, every story shared, and every person who stopped to ask about watercolor is helping Blue Hour grow in ways I never imagined.

This afternoon, I had the honor of celebrating Chapter & Bloom Pop-Up Bookstore’s first anniversary by leading a watercolor bookmark workshop at The Rabbit Room! 📚💐 We painted whimsical, book-inspired bookmarks, and it was such a joy to celebrate such a wonderful local business. A heartfelt thank you to Taylor and Olivia for inviting me to be part of your special day. Congratulations on your first year—I can’t wait to see all that’s ahead for Chapter & Bloom!

To wrap up the evening, I headed to an in-home workshop with my friend Katie Hilsabeck and her family. Together we learned the basics of watercolor and painted beautiful sea turtles. One of my favorite things about teaching is watching everyone start with the same lesson and leave with artwork that’s uniquely their own.

And the weekend isn’t over yet!

🌾 Tomorrow morning you’ll find me at the Granger Farmers Market -July where we’ll be painting watercolor bookmarks and I’ll have my Blue Hour Watercolor Kits available for purchase. If you’re in the area, I’d love for you to stop by, say hello, and create something with us!

Thank you to everyone who continues to support this little dream of mine. Every conversation, every workshop, every kit, and every brushstroke is helping Blue Hour become the creative community I always hoped it could be.

Here’s to another calm, creative day tomorrow. 🌙💙

🌸 What a beautiful evening! 💙🎨

Tonight I had the pleasure of celebrating with the winner of my Blue Hour giveaway during a cozy girls’ night filled with watercolor, laughter, and creativity.

Together we painted our own unique 4×4 floral watercolor paintings, and I loved watching each piece develop its own personality. Even though we all started with the same inspiration, every painting turned out completely unique—a wonderful reminder that there is no “right” way to create art.

A huge congratulations again to our raffle winner, Jennifer Voss and thank you so much for inviting me to be part of your girls’ night. It was such a joy to paint with all of you and spend a relaxing evening creating together.

Moments like these remind me why I started Blue Hour Watercolor Workshops—to create calm spaces where people can slow down, connect, and discover their creativity.

Thank you for making me part of such a special evening. I hope your paintings bring a smile to your faces every time you see them. 🌼💙

🌸 Tomorrow is a special day at Blue Hour! 🎨💙

A few months ago, I hosted a giveaway for a private mini watercolor session, and tomorrow I finally get to meet up with our lucky winner!

We’ll be spending the evening painting beautiful 4×4 floral watercolor paintings, learning beginner-friendly techniques, and enjoying a calm, creative time together.

One of my favorite parts of Blue Hour is getting to meet new people and share the joy of watercolor—whether it’s through workshops, festivals, community events, or fun giveaways like this one.

Congratulations again to our winner, Jennifer Voss! I can’t wait to paint with you tomorrow. 🌼

And if you’ve been thinking about trying a Blue Hour workshop, this is your sign! I’d love to have you join us at one of our upcoming Studio Series classes at Collaborate DSM.

💙 What an unforgettable weekend at the Waukee Arts Festival! 🎨

I’m heading home with a full heart and so much gratitude.

Over the course of the festival, more than 50 people stopped by to paint watercolor bookmarks through our Paint Bar and mini lessons. Watching so many people discover (or rediscover!) watercolor reminded me exactly why I started Blue Hour Watercolor Workshops.

This weekend also marked the official launch of my Blue Hour Watercolor Kits, and I was blown away by the response. We sent 10 Mini & Discovery Kits home with new artists, and I can’t wait to see the creativity they inspire.

Beyond the painting, one of my favorite parts of the weekend was meeting so many incredibly talented local artists, makers, and community members. Thank you for your encouragement, conversations, and support. This creative community is something truly special.

A huge thank you goes to my amazing Blue Crew assistants, Alayah and Emilie! From helping guests get started to keeping supplies stocked and everything running smoothly, you both made this weekend such a success. I couldn’t have done it without you! 💙

To everyone who painted, shopped, stopped to chat, or simply smiled as they walked by—thank you for supporting this little business and helping Blue Hour continue to grow.

I’m so excited for what’s ahead, especially with my new Studio Series at Collaborate DSM just around the corner.

Here’s to many more calm, creative evenings together. 🌙💙
