Hi, I’m Kiely—the artist and instructor behind Blue Hour Art.

Inspired by the quiet moments between day and night, Blue Hour Watercolor Workshops offers calm evening classes that invite reflection, exploration, and creative pause. I’m a wife, mother, and lifelong art lover with an Associate’s in the Arts, a Bachelor’s in Graphic Design & Media Arts, and I’m currently completing my Master’s in Art History and Visual Culture. I’m passionate about creating calm

One of my favorite things about these workshops is that no two paintings ever look the same 🎨

Even when everyone starts with the same idea, each person brings their own style, colors, and creativity — and it’s so fun to watch that unfold 💙

Lately, I’ve been meeting so many people through community classes who leave asking:
👉 “When is your next class?”
👉 “Can I host one of these?”

The answer is yes — and I’d love to bring a workshop to you.

If you’ve been thinking about it, this is your sign 🌙
Let’s plan a calm, creative evening together.

🌼🎨 Today's daffodil watercolor class at the West Des Moines Public Library was such a creative and joyful morning 💙

I absolutely loved seeing some familiar faces return for another class — it means so much watching people continue to explore watercolor and grow more confident each time 🌙✨

This beginner-friendly group picked up watercolor techniques so quickly and truly dove right in with creativity, color, and personality. Seeing everyone’s finished 4x4 framed daffodils come together was incredibly rewarding 🎨🖼

Congratulations as well to the raffle winner, Alli Albright who took home a hand-painted succulent bookmark and a copy of People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry 📚🌿

A huge thank you to the West Des Moines Public Library for continuing to support local art and creative community programming. I truly hope I’ll be able to keep returning to host more watercolor workshops together 💙

Hi everyone 🤍 I wanted to take a moment to reintroduce myself

I’m Kiely — the artist behind Blue Hour Watercolor Workshops 🎨🌙

What started as a simple love for watercolor has turned into something really special — helping people slow down, try something new, and create something they’re proud of (even if they’ve never picked up a paintbrush before).

I’ve had the chance to teach in libraries, community centers, and in people’s homes, and one of my favorite things is watching that moment when someone says, “Wait… I actually love this.” 💙

If you’ve ever thought about trying watercolor or hosting something a little different for a group, I’d love to connect with you.

Calm creative evenings, brought to you.
