🩸 DVT vs PE (Simple & Clear Difference)

🔵 1. DVT – Deep Vein Thrombosis
👉 Full form: Deep Vein Thrombosis

📍 Clot forms in deep veins, usually in legs

🦵 Common in calf or thigh

⚠️ Can travel to lungs and cause PE

Symptoms:

Leg swelling (usually one side)

Pain or tenderness

Warmth

Redness

Diagnosis:

D-dimer test

Doppler Ultrasound

Treatment:

Anticoagulants (Heparin, Warfarin)

Compression stockings

🔴 2. PE – Pulmonary Embolism
👉 Full form: Pulmonary Embolism

📍 Clot travels to lungs

🫁 Blocks pulmonary artery

🚨 Medical emergency

Symptoms:

Sudden shortness of breath

Chest pain (worse on breathing)

Rapid heart rate

Cough (sometimes blood)

Diagnosis:

CT Pulmonary Angiography
