What is School for A Course in Miracles?

Yes! There is a school for the study and application of A Course in Miracles, perhaps one of the most important statements ever witnessed to by mankind. In 1976, with the publication of A Course in Miracles, Jesus declares his aim in reaching into this world of time and space through the medium of a book. “I need devoted teachers who share my aim of healing the mind”.

To teach is to learn according to the Course. Shepherding students through the process of learning how to be “happy learners” of another way to look at the world and then on to becoming teachers of God is our mission. While this sounds lofty, it actually requires the utmost of humility for those who want to learn who they truly are. Anyone can be a teacher of God who choses to be one. His sole qualification is that he does not see his interests apart from others. Everyone teaches who they think they are by the attitudes they live by. Bottom line we teach love or fear.

School for A Course in Miracles is a flourishing community of teachers and students who want to teach and therefore learn that love is what we are. Some of us have been engaged in the practice of healing our minds through forgiveness for over 40 years. Collectively our faculty of 4 has devoted over 85 years to teaching classes, workshops, and retreats to help others understand and apply the Course.

SFACIM offers accelerated learning programs for all stages of the spiritual journey, from the basic metaphysics that provide the foundation for understanding the Course’s non-dual thought system, to living the Course in our everyday lives by applying the lessons. For those interested in a rigorous engagement with the Course, six month Course Immersions in study and application are offered both locally and online.

Living the Course does not require changes in the life situations of a student. Wherever he is, that is the perfect classroom for his learning. Nor does it require changes in his behavior. It requires only that he learn to change his mind. With help. Authentic changes in behavior occur effortlessly as an effect of his changed mind. As a student advances in trust in a power greater than himself he becomes a teacher, demonstrating the truth of what lies within him. These are the characteristics of God’s teachers: trust, honesty, tolerance, gentleness, joy, defenselessness, generosity, patience, faithfulness, and open-mindedness.

The SFACIM community is a strong support for those on the journey from selfishness to selflessness and from mindlessness to mind. Any gain by anyone anywhere is a gain to all. It is here, in community, that we begin to experience the joy of learning together that we are not different, separate and apart. When the presence of love is not being denied, love is shared by everyone. A present experience is the best teacher. To support everyone in continuing to learn together we offer free on-going education in the form of 1 hour morning chats on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:30 to 10:30 am.

Traditionally spiritual paths have a lineage of teachers beginning with the first to awaken from the dream of separation and rise to teach it. We acknowledge Jesus as the source of A Course in Miracles. We also recognize Kenneth Wapnick, PhD., as his first devoted disciple, helper, foremost scholar, and teacher. Ken’s devotion to Jesus’ mission has taken the form of over 40 years of seminars, 40 books, and 200 CD’s and DVD’s to help others understand the Course so we can also help keep the Course “on course”. SFACIM does not deviate from the logic and reason that are the foundation its uncompromising non-dual metaphisics, heretofore unknown in the western world. that have helped integrate such statements as the following into an experience of unalterable inner peace.

Or: “Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God”
