Many thanks to SAG-AFTRA New Mexico’s Conservatory program for inviting us to teach self-tape to your members. More than 50 union actors in one of the busiest TV/Film markets attended via Zoom this weekend and learned some introductory Takeda Technique methods that have helped hundreds of our students to book on tape.
This was our third self-tape “Quick Course” through the Conservatory. Earlier this year, we worked with Conservatory programs in Colorado and Nashville. We look forward to an in-person program with Nashville later this summer.
Our mission is to help all actors book in this self-tape world. Thank you again.

Huge congratulations to our student Jodi Jarvis who booked a costar role on the CBS hit series “Marshals.” She had quite a few bookings prior to the pandemic, but this is her first after. Her self-tape skills are really top notch now, and her tapes now show all of her talent and skill.
Way to go Jodi! We’re hoping this role recurs in a future season.

We’re celebrating our student, Diane Sargent who booked a costar role on the fifth season of the Apple TV series “For All Mankind.” She’s a frequent booker and most recently had a nice costar on a Hulu series and has a Lifetime moving coming up. We are so thrilled her self-tape auditions are showcasing all of her natural talent and skill.
Nice job Diane! We’re huge fans.

As we close out , we turn toward sizzling summer. It’s time to learn how to record tapes that book soap operas — the original serialized dramas.
You probably know about daytime soaps like "General Hospital" and night time soaps like "Dynasty." Did you know there are prestige soaps too? Apple TV’s "The Morning Show" and Netflix’ “Virgin River” are also soaps. And there are so many more! Also, once you learn how to do soaps, you’ll know what to do when you have an audition for other serialized dramas for TV.
Don’t miss our June Self-Tape 501 class. We’re gonna do a deep dive into the sudsy, backstabbing, bed-hopping world of soaps — and what to do when you have a self-tape audition for one these shows. And it's taught by Scott Takeda, who has booked several soaps. Only on Monday nights in June at the Takeda Technique.
