Hellurrr everybody!! I highly suggest that if you can, absolutely attend the NVRA convention in San Antonio, TX July 11-13! I know it's practically around the corner but it is heavy on captioning content this year and is going to be a blast!! Yours truly is presenting for two hours, Caryn Broome will be speaking on New Professionals, Jodie Casal will be presenting on human providers vs. AI, Mandy Sullivan West will be presenting on the transition process from CART/Captioning to Court Reporting and what you need to know. It's going to be AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you're not a member, become one!! Until then, you can attend as a Student and pay the discounted rate. There are also sponsors signing up to cover the cost for Students registration. COME. TO. IT. You'll love it! Such a great networking opportunity, and a huge educational benefit. Holler if you have questions!!
Here is the tentative agenda posted (they should be updating it today to add Caryn):

Filing FCC Complaints - Go to the following Link to file a complaint on Caption problems:
https://www.fcc.gov/consumers/guides/closed-captioning-television
Please read this page. You will note near the top a section entitled "FCC closed captioning rules" which briefly reviews Best Practices for Caption Provision (more in-depth info below). Scroll down the page and there is info for filing complaints via different methods.
Closed Captioning on Television Closed captioning displays the audio portion of a television program as text on the TV screen, providing a critical link to news, entertainment and information for individuals who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.
If there was a CART/Captioning convention where we could all get together and meet often (in person or virtually), what would you like to see, hear, know? π€π€―
