I believe that it is important to teach note reading, music theory, and proper technique. I encourage individuality and creativity, and provide regular performance opportunities.

Happy 267th birthday to one of my all time favorite composers, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. He began composing music at 5 years old, started preforming publicly at 6 years old, and was composing symphonies by 7/8 years old. His talent was absolutely astounding and I am so grateful to have had the pleasure of playing his music on both the piano and the saxophone (transcriptions), as well as singing his music with multiple choirs. If it's been a while since you've heard one of his compositions, today would be a great day to go and listen! 🎵
