Today some real memories were made for our community. Kids from Florida Pitt Waller, Compass Montessori, Collegiate Prep Academy, Noel Community Arts School and Denver Center for International Studies at Montbello came together in the Montbello Campus Library to hear talk about her best-selling, award winning novel

Afterwards, the students heard from founder Analise Harris about all things celebrating being curly, female, and Black.

When a community school is closed and several are opened in its place, the fragmentation in the community gets felt at several levels.

To hear someone say today they want to go to Montbello High (if/when it gets reunified) is something so many of us never thought we would hear.

The love was felt there today. It really does take a village and today, we had that. We felt that. We did that. Thank you to everybody who helped make this day happen for our kids--teachers, activity bus drivers, school board members, community partners, authors. It takes all of us, and it's happening...
