Did you know that Mosley has Elementary and Middle School Anchored4Life Team Leaders? Anchored4Life is an organization that develops resiliency through peer-to-peer connections. It supports military and nonmilitary students through transitions in their lives. These are our Elementary Anchored4Life Team Leaders, who have begun teaching other students at Mosley essential skills to work through the tough stuff that comes up in life. Thanks, A4L team!

Our school is named after Aurora community leader Lieutenant Colonel John W. Mosley, and last week, a VA clinic was named in his honor.

Lt. Col. John W. Mosley VA Clinic Aurora is now home to the Lt. Col. John W. Mosley VA Clinic. It's named in honor of Tuskegee Airman and Aurora community leader, John Mosley.

Happy Black History Month! Black history is American history. This is a time to celebrate Black Americans—their achievements, stories, and countless contributions to communities across this country.

Join us this week for Winterfest Thursday, December 12th, from 5:00-7:00!! There will be games, activities, student performances, raffles, a photo booth, music performances, and much more! We will sell concession snacks, raffle tickets for grade-level themed baskets, and the holiday basket silent auction. The money collected is used to help pay for field trips across our grade levels, which include trips to the zoo, Denver Museum of Nature & Science, Anderson’s Farm, Ameritowne, and our 5th grades going to Cal Wood and environmental field trip. Our 5th graders will have a special room that will support this trip called the glow stick dance party. All children can enter the dance, but if families want to purchase a glow stick it will be a recommended dollar donation. Winterfest will be fun for the whole family!

On Veterans Day we had several different opportunities for students to learn about Veterans Day and honor our Veterans. We had an educational and fun Veterans Day Assembly. Major Latetia Bland-Thergood, Deputy Director of the Space Force Support Squadron, spoke to our students about the history of Veterans Day and the differences between Military Branches. The Buckley Honor Guard started out the Assembly with the presentation of the Colors. Two members of the Buckley Honor Guard showed our 5th Graders how to respectfully raise the flag. It was our first Veterans Day Assembly in several years and it was great to see our students honor Veterans.

Thanks so much to everyone who helped out with Trunk or Treat last night. We had a great turn out, lots of fun, and most importantly...lots of candy.

We had a lot of fun at the Mosley Fun Run! Participants ran 2 miles (4 laps around Mosley) and then enjoyed pancakes from Flipping Flapjacks. Our fastest student runners were Sayed (1st), Adalyn (2nd), and Matteo (3rd). Our fastest adult runners were Ms. Ortega (1st), Aaron (Braxton's Dad) (2nd), and Juan (3rd). Thanks, Mrs. McBroom and Ms. Meeks for organizing such a fun event!!
