Grace! I am so glad that we both get to live beautiful and remarkable lives without alcohol. I’m so grateful you shared your story and I know it’s going to give others permission to share theirs. I’m so grateful our lives still get to overlap after all these years. I love you. I am proud of you. I am proud of us. And if anyone wants to make a docuseries about the wild alcohol use at the first few VidCons and Playlist Lives, I am ready. 🤣 Grace Helbig

Today is National Sober Day. I have been sober for 3378 days - the best 3378 days of life. 🥹

I actually never saw myself as “sober” until around 6 years in. I called myself a “happy non-drinker”. 💃

I didn’t feel sober was necessarily my word.

I didn’t go to AA. I didn’t work a program. I woke up one day and decided I wasn’t going to drink anymore. I know I am lucky. 🙏

Now, I love, embrace and own the word “sober” as my own. 💪

I post this to celebrate my life without any drugs or alcohol and as a way to perhaps speak some gentle, non- judgmental encouragement to someone who might see this and be thinking about stopping once and for all. 🤗

I know I love and benefit when I see others posting about it so thank you for sharing your stories!

Just causally sitting next to the greatest athlete of all time at the Indiana Fever basketball game. 💀

Simone is the most lovely human and I wasn’t sure she would remember me but she did right away. Back around 2016, the team used to watch my videos sometimes so I was pretty online friendly with them.

We laughed and chatted the whole game and she was as lovely and delightful and hilarious as you would imagine.

I will never get over tonight. Talk about the merging of my two great loves - women’s gymnastics and women’s basketball.

Thank you to my dearest friend Amanda Tweten for the tickets and being responsible for so many of the best moments of my life. 🫶

Oh and the Fever won and played great but I was very distracted and dazzled by SIMONE BILES 🤩

Thank you Simone for the brightest of lights in the world! 😍

Oh Dolly - all the ways you have positively impacted my life! You have made me a better human just by watching you live your life with total love and authenticity.

I saw you in 9 to 5 as a very young child and I knew immediately - THIS WOMAN IS FOR ME!

You can feel the collective sadness today as this is not so much the loss of a celebrity - but the loss of one of the greatest human beings of all time.

What a gift it has been to be your fan and live during your lifetime. We will always love you Dolly. ❤️

Third (and final) year in a row sitting courtside with my dad at Mohegan! The Connecticut Sun is no more after this season so we will have to meet up in another city! Also enjoyed all the courtside food. As always, someone thought I worked there and asked if there was coffee. 💀

I am just one of those people (I look and walk very assertive) who seem like I work every where I go. 😂

Mae is learning to drive and last night was my first time seeing her in action. A solid performance. We talked about driving being a team sport and you want to be a good teammate to everyone else on the road. 😉

She did a great job, told me I gave constructive tips and we listened to Hilary Duff.

She is also glad I kept this car because neither of us would want her driving my Mercedes. Thank you. 😂

The first time in my life that I was successful (YouTube), I went out and bought a ROLEX . I don’t remember even knowing anything about the brand. Our friend Cheryl had one and I thought it was nice so the next thing I knew, I had one and had bought my husband one.

I don’t recall ever loving it. I think I liked “the idea of it”. But like I said, it never occurred to me to want one so when I got one, I didn’t necessarily feel anything other than “I just spent a lot of money on a watch”. 🤪

Fast forward a few years, I was no longer successful. I felt silly driving a Mercedes (you know that story). I also sold my Rolex.

It felt freeing - both things were nice but didn’t suit me in the chapter I was in.

A few years ago, I decided I wanted a Rolex again. It was from a place or “ I think now I would actually ENJOY having this”. I bought a Cartier watch instead.

But if you see me on Instagram story, you knew I was always looking at Rolexes.

I planned on buying myself one for my 50th - but I had just broken my clavicle and couldn’t find a new one. I had almost bought one on Bezel (New but resale - over the original price), I had gone to the NYC Diamond District and haggled a bit.

I was on the waitlist for a few Datejust -one came in once - I tried it on - but at the same time my eye wandered back to the “Bluesy” Submariner Date which is what I had!

In June, I emailed Jelena and said put me on the list for the “Bluesy” and today she emailed me she had one and here we are!

I was glad Debbie and Mae came with me! It feels nice to share these moments with family!

Mae enjoyed the sparking water and chocolates too! 😎

I wanted to post this not to “brag” that I got a nice watch but maybe encourage people who were in a down season, or a messy middle season. I also believed the lie thought I told myself “My best years are behind me”. And my best years were yet to go! I believe they still are!
 I also wanted to tell you is OKAY TO WANT THINGS! I promise! I think “stuff” gets a bad rap sometimes but I LOVE STUFF! HAHA! I love people, I love experiences but I really love stuff too! HAHA!

I am mostly just grateful I never gave up on myself. Thank you. 🥹
