Bradley Elementary Farm was honored in the Slow Food USA weekly shout out! We planted most of the farm in Ark of Taste designated Amish Paste tomatoes. The goal of the Ark is to identify delicious and distinctive foods facing extinction and promote production to keep them on our plates. You can browse the entire list at slowfoodusa.org/ark-of-taste

Look at our cover crop Hairy Vetch. This plant fixes large amounts of nitrogen that helps us meet N needs, protects soil from erosion, helps improve soil tilth, and provides w**d control during its vigorous growth. This plant also increases resistance against disease for the crops we are going to plant! Yay!

Colorado may pay to get more local food in schools DENVER (AP) — Colorado is pondering spending about $1 million a year for five years to put more local produce in school cafeterias.
