Saying a heartfelt goodbye to all our friends and supporters as Pop Culture Classroom will cease all operations on January 31st. This means no further emails, social media updates, product launches, or programming moving forward.
📚 If you haven’t already, please download any resources you can from our website. We’re unsure how long it will remain accessible—possibly months, weeks, or just days.
To everyone who has reached out about hosting our materials: thank you. PCC has always aimed to provide resources freely, and we hope that legacy continues. Discussions about ownership of Colorful History and other PCC materials are ongoing between lawyers and board members.
Thank you for all your support over the years on this journey to spread the love of learning with students everywhere. We wish you all the best!

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Pop Culture Classroom will be closing on January 31st.
From all of us at PCC, we thank you for supporting our mission since 2010, changing the lives of students through the power of pop culture.
While we're looking for a place to house our trove of online resources, we can't guarantee we will find a solution before our website shuts down on January 31st. So please, download anything you can and share it with your teacher and librarian friends. It would mean the world to us to know that the comics and teaching guides we have created will live on. We also have a few last-minute teaching guides that we will be releasing over the next few weeks, so stay tuned for those.
Again, we thank you for being on this journey with us for so many years. You can read our team's full statement on our website: https://popcultureclassroom.org/2025/01/16/pop-culture-classroom-closes-its-doors/

Is encouraging your kids to read more on your list of New Year's Resolutions? Here are 5 places you can find books without spending any money!
1️⃣ Little Free Libraries: These are "take a book, share a book” free book exchanges. They can be anywhere around your neighborhood, like inside malls and surrounding parks. To find one near you, get the Little Free Library mobile app!
2️⃣ Local Libraries: Sometimes, libraries will have free book giveaways to clear out unused inventory. Check with your library if they have an event like this! In addition, did you know that you can download e-books and audiobooks using your library card with apps like Overdrive and Libby?
3️⃣ "Buy Nothing" Groups: You can often find people giving away unwanted books in “Buy Nothing” groups, like you would find on Facebook. These are a great place to pass along books you’ve already read or your kids have outgrown.
4️⃣ Project Gutenberg: A library of over 70,000 free eBooks with a wide selection of books for all ages. They are available to download on a Kindle or read online.
5️⃣ Dolly Parton's Imagination Library: A book gifting program that mails free books to children from birth until they begin school in participating areas. You can go online to see if you qualify and sign up to begin receiving the books automatically each month.
Have you tried any of these resources? Have any to add to the list? Let us know in the comments! 👇

Children learn better when they can connect with the material they are being taught, and that is why we're so passionate about bringing the tools of popular culture into the classroom.
We all know kids love games, stories, and characters, so why not use them as part of the curriculum?
Teachers already have a lot on their plate, so we hope that by leading hands-on workshops and providing free downloadable resources, they will be able to create more engaging classroom instruction, without creating more work.
We know that with every donation, we can reach so many more teachers and students with these free resources. Are you with us? Make a gift for the season of giving today at https://popcultureclassroom.org/donate/ ❤️
