Our Story
We are the Sigma Upsilon chapter of the Sigma Alpha Iota, International Music Fraternity for women, founded in 1903.
Originally chartered on September 30th, 1926, Sigma Upsilon was active at the University of Denver for nearly thirty years before going inactive. In 2005, a group of young women in the Lamont School of Music were inspired to bring Sigma Alpha Iota back to the university. After being a colony for three years, Sigma Upsilon was officially reinstalled at DU on May 30th, 2009.
