We're still waiting on word from the city about the fate of our beloved Mercury Cafe home, but in the meantime, Denver Comedy Underground is letting the Lindy Jam Classes & Dance continue!

Amazing part is, no joke, Denver Comedy Underground is 180 feet away from the Merc, just across the street!

The best support you can give at this time is to attend the dance, AND support Denver Comedy Underground by seeing a show, or buying a cocktail/mocktail at the Tuesday Lindy Jam!

This is a FREE event!

What You Can Expect:

- Social Dancing - No need to bring a partner, we all dance with each other. Singles, couples, and families all welcome
- The wonderful LIVE music of the Max Moore Quartet
- We dance to Jazz standards, think Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Ella Fitzgerald

Our hope is to be back in the Mercury Cafe very soon, but we have to wait until Monday (4/20) when the folks from the city get back to work. City Council Member Darrell Watson (District 9) has been amazing, and we’ll let you know asap when there are any official updates!

UPDATE: The Merc owner has said that City Council Member Darrell Watson has been amazing, but the city folks can't get back until Monday. We're still hopeful that the doors will be open for our dances soon!

But we don't want to stop dancing!!!

We're finalizing the details for a "Mercury Cafe On Tour" dance tomorrow night! It'll be FREE, the Max Moore Quartet will be playing, we'll all be there swinging out! it'll be in N Aurora from 6-8:30 pm. FINAL LOCATION REVEAL TOMORROW! And if the details don't pan out, we'll reveal the location of a meet-up where we can all hang out! Hope to see you all there!! Donations welcome!

I have been dancing at the Mercury Cafe, now known as The Pearl, for several years. Our community, along with the poets and other dance communities have been using the space as separate tenants of the building since The Pearl’s takeover, and the recent seizure of the property is affecting our ability to use the space.

I’m writing to you in hopes that you can help our community and the other communities that use the 2199 California st. building to regain access to the space. As organizations which are not affiliated with the business of The Pearl, it is very unfortunate that we are losing access to the space we have called home for decades.

There are events which happen there nearly every night, so the sooner we can get this resolved, the better.

Thank you very much for reading, and for any help you can offer with this situation.
