After some years spent as an SAP Cyber Security Engineer, I realized that there was a large disconnect between myself and my purpose. I should get certified.

and Unlock Your True Potential I had the talent to do some really cool things but I had little desire to capitalize on it. The path was seemingly clear yet I had no direction or drive. I would ‘should’ all over myself…
I should write a blog. I should start
a YouTube channel. I should speak at a conference. I was showing up with my head in the clouds; distracted and unfocused. The excuses mounted. My attitude was toxic. What’s wrong with me? The answer was simple…
Nothing! Absolutely nothing was wrong with me. My intentions were pure. I provided a ton of value to our customers. I am smart. I am capable. I’m holding myself back. My bad attitude was a reflection of my incumbent relationship with myself. My lack of confidence stemmed from feeling insignificant and unappreciated. I was using excuses and poor performance as a way to be heard and seen by others (I figured some attention was better than no attention). I felt like a ghost and I carried that feeling with me everywhere that I went. Never again. I made the decision to never feel that way again. Never again would I be a victim. A victim of my own thoughts. A victim of my choices. A victim of my circumstances. I took extreme ownership of everything in my life. Ownership of my emotions. Ownership of my relationships. Ownership of my outcomes. I am in command of my life. I exude confidence every day. I act with courage when I am fearful. I am the Hero of my own story. Take a moment to think of your life as if you are the Hero of your own story. Every day you are writing your story that others will see and you get to decide what type of character you are going to be. Despite all of the challenges that arrive in your life you get to decide who you are going to be and what you are going to be remembered for. You don't decide what challenges arrive, but you do decide how you are going to react to them, how you are going to show up every day, and you decide if you are going to step up or step down, to show courage or to be a coward. You, my friend, are the Hero of your own story and you get to decide who you are going to be. Become the Hero you have always been searching for. You see, you have an opportunity, you have a choice and a decision to make, and in every breath that you take, in every heart beat that you make, you can either move forward towards your dreams or move back and die slowly. What decision are you going to make? You say you don't know the answers. You say you don't have the experience. The money. The resources. The relationships. That is all bu****it! You have everything you need inside of you. You have all of the wisdom. You have an abundant world of resources. All you need to do is get through the clutter in your negative mind and open your world to an incredible land of possibilities. Become the Hero you have always been searching for because the world needs more people like you. The world needs you to step out of your fear, out of your pain, out of your frustration, out of your resentment, and start loving yourself. Start moving towards this passion, this creativity inside of you that has always been there but you have been holding it back because of the fear of failure, because of the fear of what other people will think about you, because of the fear of not making someone proud. You need to start becoming the Hero that you have always been searching for because everyone has been searching for you! Now is the time to make the decision. Be the Hero of Your Own Story.
