I don't know where I saw this, but it really struck me. It was a story about a high school or middle school, that was really troubled. They had a lot of vandalism on the school grounds and other issues. So the school started sending home notices. But the notices were things like: "Your Child was caught doing something kind." "Your child was discovered helping another student." Stuff like that. I w
ish I could find the original article because it was really cool. The neat thing was that after this program really took hold, the problem behavior stopped at the school. No more vandalism. Cool huh? So often I do good things, not because I am going to get some reward, but because in an of itself, it feels good. Sometimes I don't feel like I do near enough with all that needs to be done in the world. Just in my own nearest vicinity. But I was sitting here wondering how I can inspire the same sort of thing? I don't have photoshop, but would like to find a way to "make" a Mythical Good Deed Citation... or something like that. Something that I can post on people's Facebook walls when I "catch them in the act" of "being the change we want to see in the world." I mean, if it works in a school, wouldn't it work other places? right? Just a thought. Then maybe we could all do it... what if it spread?
