Híŋhaŋni wašté community members,

As you all know there is an encampment of protesters on the Auraria campus but it has been peaceful. We will still be continuing the Powwow and graduation on campus.

We will be in the PE/Event center again this year and we are making sure that our food trucks and vendors are in a space where we will be mostly separated from the encampment.

The news can say things sometimes that isn't true or out of context. We will be talking to the encampment tomorrow and ask that they continue to be peaceful and respectful so our community Powwow and graduation continues with no disruptions.

We hope this helps clarify some things for you all. We are keeping everyone's safety in mind so if there are any changes. We will make sure to let you know right away.

I will also be posting on where to park and we will have signs to guide you to the powwow. We will have a cart to pick up our elders from parking lots if need be again this year and also an unloading area in the back of the PE/Event center.
