I'm in the slow process of understanding and migrating many of the materials from the YouTube channel and such over to a Discord server. We'll see how much "fun" the process is and whether there are more interactions.

I'm doing lunch with an old friend and TO colleague tomorrow; it's been a few moons since we spent time together. I'm going to approach at least one of the two potential adjustments which may happen within this space, an effort to mature from the occasionally-preachy ramblings of one guy to the musings and discussions of modern participatory multisport and the rules which govern it. Fingers crossed that the lad will accept the offer.

Happy new year, and happy new multisport ruleset! Get your new copy from the USAT website; one minor typo found so far.
Stay tuned to this space for a review of the changes, and perhaps a new format for content.

Altitude is not for the weak. And it will call B.S. on your 'slightly-decreased elevation while growing up' provenance. 🤔

Weather? In a word, this morning's is 💩. The last couple of days had conditions that a real estate agent or job recruiter would gladly use to "sell a town." This morning is more akin to that "month that lasted a year" I spent in Chicago (more accurately, North Chicago, where GLAKES is).
I'm sure that Suz. will post up the shots and such from last night at Goosetown Station. Neat place. Lots of craft brews. A Oaxacan quesadilla de barbacoa to die for (made by a guy who's visited Japan, no less!). If not for the drippy conditions the whole night would have been five stars and compensated for the lack of sleep; apparently our smoke alarm decided to go wonky, requiring a reset. How hard is it to reach a ten-foot ceiling without anything in the house? Very. Short people, take note when moving into a newly-developed apartment complex.
After a quick jaunt in an hour to pick up a couple more pieces of furniture Scott and Marissa have graciously offered (If not us, then Marketplace, says Marissa. Sold American.), it might be high time to pop my head into a bookstore and see what the hell else has changed in the last three years. There's a book on Artificial Intelligence by Gary Marcus (mentioned on the Harry Shearer "Le Show" podcast) that might help me in further understanding some of the tools instructional designers (and others, for that matter) are using to develop content.
Oh, yes. And time to make nice with the treadmills in the gym facility. Get their trust and all that. Out of here before my coffee gets too cold.

Love my phone when going for a walk/run; music helps much. Ah, but I probably need to remove my plastic and rubber impact case more often than once every 90 days to wipe stuff down. It's not good to have a phone that smells like...well, you can guess.

Ah. Paratriathlon is on. PTWC in the water at this time.

For those who love us (and feel the need to contact via our present cell service), please bear with the brief inconvenience as I shut off our Y!mobile (JPN) accounts today. We still have our Google numbers and are available when Wi-Fi is available.

Ah, Shanshan has now down-sized to a tropical storm, and should be a tropical depression by the end of the weekend.
(I'd hate to see what it looks like down in Miyazaki and the rest of Kyushu at this moment.)
Saying all that, we press onward with getting all the boxes checked. Suzanne has begun the great sorting of what we want to receive first and what will have to wait a little longer. We might have to get a cheap coffeemaker or survive on McDonald's and S'bux offerings. And then, there's the clothes thing. I'm going to have to learn to wear long pants, I guess, when I'm not working. Sweats and warm-ups might be a transition. I promised myself I would eschew aloha shirts in the workplace, but they might have to be tucked up under a sweatshirt. Happi coat?
