Echinacea Montessori School

This was a card I was given by a former student who visited today & it got me thinking.
Indeed, who would I be without my best teachers? I’ve had so many:
Elizabeth Roth taught my daughter how to make an apple print (among many other things). Carrie S who took her children (& my child) on nature walks. Nathan G, who was fearless in making art with children.
Hanna D shows deep compassion & peace in every step of teaching.
Ana C taught me not take myself SO seriously: that this work should be joyful.
Ginevra taught me to authentically connect.
Dr Montessori whose work showed me that, yes, I do have a mathematical mind.
I have learned from these & so many more-both children & adults. I think of them as I try to replicate their great work & feel such gratitude.

Practical life: care of self, care of others, care of the environment.
Children do what their bodies need in the moment.
The adult observes growing independence, gross motor & fine motor skills development, following multi-step directions, freedom of choice, satisfaction & joy in work.
This is the power of Montessori.
