Definitely something to be aware of. Don't pay someone to fill the FAFSA out for you.

The 1st "F" in FAFSA stands for FREE! Several websites offer help filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for a fee. These sites are not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education. We urge you not to pay these sites for assistance that you can get for free elsewhere. The official FAFSA is at http://1.usa.gov/Q5JOcN. You can get free help from: - The financial aid office at your college or the college(s) you're thinking about attending - The FAFSA's online help at http://1.usa.gov/Q5JOcN - The Federal Student Aid Information Center: http://bit.ly/Q5JOcL If you are asked for your credit card information while filling out the FAFSA online, you are not at the official government site. Remember, the FAFSA site address has .gov in it!

Thing high school is too young to start investing? Todd Romer would disagree, especially in this less-than-stellar economy.

Some advice for investing despite the economy, and why starting in high school or college can be a good choice. (Hint: Compound interest can be an amazing thing.)

Make a Bad Economy Work for You When Todd Romer was 16 years old he bought 10 shares of Johnson & Johnson stock with money he earned mowing lawns. "That was a tremendous lesson," he says. Now he's the editor of Young Money magazine, a publication he founded in 1999. Learn from him.
