Our 7th grade students took a field trip to CSU Spur in Denver, where they explored sustainable food sources and learned how science, agriculture, and innovation work together to support healthy communities. Through interactive exhibits and hands-on experiences, students gained a deeper understanding of where food comes from and how sustainable practices impact both local and global environments. This trip also emphasized the importance of community connection, as students see how organizations collaborate to create solutions that benefit everyone. It was a valuable opportunity for them to connect classroom learning to the real world and recognize their role in building a more sustainable and connected community.

Academic Excellence
In 7th grade Social Studies, we are engaging a unit on Ancient Rome that supports our commitment to academic excellence. Students explore Roman culture, achievements, and daily life while developing critical thinking and historical analysis skills. As part of this unit, students design and create their own mosaics inspired by Roman art. This unique project reinforces learning by combining creativity with content knowledge, helping students deepen their understanding while demonstrating attention to detail, problem-solving, and craftsmanship. Real Skills for Real Life
The girls soccer team delivered a dominant performance in their playoff win this week, showcasing both talent and teamwork. Lulu and Genesis each recorded a hat trick, while Adamari added another goal to seal the victory. Beyond the impressive scoreline, the game highlighted real-life skills that extend far beyond the field. The girls showed discipline, communication, perseverance, and the ability to work toward a common goal. Their success is a powerful example of how dedication and collaboration can lead to excellence, both in sports and in everyday life

Connecting to Community
WCMS did a great job hosting the track meet this week, bringing together athletes, families, and supporters in a strong display of community spirit. Our athletes performed incredibly well, with both the boys’ and girls’ medley relay teams earning 1st place finishes. Ashton took 5th in discus, Kai finished 4th in the 800-meter run, and Sierra tied for 4th in the 100-meter dash. Events like this not only showcase the hard work and dedication of our students, but also help strengthen connections within our community as everyone comes together to support and celebrate these achievements.
