Marycrest High School:

At the corner of 52nd and Federal Blvd, once complemented Regis. In 1917, the Franciscan Sisters of Penance and Christian Charity came to Denver, running province various educational and welfare programs. In 1938 they purchased what had been the 20-acre estate of James B. Smith at 5200 Federal Boulevard, transforming it into the head-quarters of the midwestern province of their order. They added a retreat as they acquired adjacent property.
