It is estimated that approximately 4,000 people are experiencing homelessness in the city of Denver (Everyone Counts, 2020). Among individuals who do not have homes, many are veterans, some are individuals that are fleeing from domestic violence, and many are youth with no parents or guardians (Everyone Counts, 2020).
The International Association for Rural and Urban Development (IARUD) is an international nonprofit organization. IARUD's mission is to eliminate poverty and to improve one’s overall quality of life through education. The IARUD CU Denver Chapter was created to give students, faculty, and staff an opportunity to give back to the Denver Metro Area.
Every year IARUD CU fundraises for an annual event. This year the organization is raising money to make ‘care bags’ for individuals who are experiencing homelessness around the holidays in December. The packages will include essential hygiene items and masks to reduce the spread of Covid-19. We are asking for you to contribute monetarily to fund the purchase of the Care Bag items. Your support is crucial to show this community that they are not alone and definitely matter...Anything helps!
