Full disclosure. Your scribe is a huge booster of Metropolitan State University of Denver. As chair of the Irv Brown Endowment Fund advisory team it's a thrill to help MSU Denver achieve its wonderful mission to provide a high-quality, accessible and enriching education preparing students, especially of color and limited financial resources, to become tomorrow's leaders.

Wednesday nights kickoff to "Roadrunners Rise" was incredible. So to is this woman, Christine Marquez-Hudson. The university's VP for Advancement and Exective Director of the MSU Denver Foundation, where the IBEF resides.

"CMH" is the teacher and McIntosh is the pupil. Lucky to be learning from one of the best in how to best serve and support the university's mission. A moment long ago, in the early days of my television career in the Rio Grande Valley of south Texas, forever planted a seed in my soul to serve students of color and enhance their educational opportunities.

The Irv Brown Endowment Fund's advisory team is dedicated to students at Metropolitan State University of Denver. We love serving these impressionable minds studying the business side of sports at the university through financial assistance, mentoring and networking opportunities. Blessed.

Give a big ol' shout out to Laryss Rodriguez. This young woman loves sports and desires a career in the biz. We just learned the Denver native is going to work for CBS Colorado in its sports department.

That's what this is all about. Walking beside these students, daring them to dream and assist in helping those dreams become reality. Laryss, congrats!

Rene Dominguez and Sofia Nazarenus were the winners in 2024. Next year? IBEF will award FIVE scholarships!

It's such an honor to chair the Irv Brown Endowment Fund advisory team. We work closely with Metropolitan State University of Denver's foundation and its awesome leader, Christine Marquez-Hudson.

We provide financial aid, mentoring and networking opportunities to students studying the business side of sports at the university. All in honor of the one and only Irv. What a guy. Gratifying work.

The team is cooking up a fun event involving golf and hanging out with Irv's long-time sidekick, Joe Williams. Swing the sticks, hang out with a legend and talk sports, current and past.
