Check your privilege at the door and make space for the desires, experiences, and expressions of those whose voices often get spoken over, interrupted, mocked, dismissed, or straight up ignored.

Your ability and willingness to remain in a conversation despite, however uncomfortable, is a testament to how much your willing to check your levels of entitlement and hear the desires and experiences of someone else.

As I write this Iâm contemplating all the ways in which Iâve consciously or unconsciously taken power away from others. Iâd like to invite you to do the same.

I started amplifying my voice more to show you my pain, frustrations, anger, joys, and fears because there is nothing else for me to lose. And everything to gain, including my freedom...which depends on your compassion + willingness to LISTEN.
