60’s Naugahyde Egmond guitar rebuild with onboard Rangemaster treble booster, rubber bridge, hand-wound pickups
McGibney Guitars
12/08/2022
real tasty collaboration between McGibney Guitars, , and on this 60’s Naugahyde Egmond guitar (made in Holland) with onboard Rangemaster treble booster driven by a NOS 60’s Mullard yellow jacket OC44!
All three pickups were hand-wound by - a Jazzmaster pup in the neck, a mini humbucker in the middle, and a PAF in the bridge
the Rangemaster treble booster was built on protoboard by and has two trimmers under the hood, one for bias, one for volume, and wired to a switch that activates/deactivates the circuit and battery simultaneously
hand-sculpted the rubber bridge, re-did all of the electronics with new high quality kit, routed out for all the pups, and handmade the insanely cool pickguard that now adorns this vintage fantasy machine!
see the next post for a quick clip of Cole from CMR taking her for a spin >>>
teamwork makes the dream work! let us know if you’re looking for any onboard delights, we’d love to make it happen for your axe

The Fuzz From The Black Lagoon is a riff on the Joe Gagan Easy Face, a hybrid silicone/germanium fuzz face with unique ‘Blend’ and ‘Pre-Gain’ controls, but for this one we went all germanium and added an external bias control - It rips!
This monster includes a NOS pair of germanium transistors - a 60s General Electric military spec black hat 2N1303 and a 60s Texas Instruments 2N1305, NOS Sprague, Nichicon, and Paktron capacitors, NOS carbon composition Ohmite and Allen Bradley resistors, Switchcraft jacks, PRO feather-click footswitch, four k***s (volume, pre-gain, blend, and an external bias adjustment)
swipe for clips, I’ll make a more detailed video soon showing how versatile this fuzz face is, it’ll go gooey and gated to tight and saturated to sweet germanium overdrive and has excellent cleanup
Available now, DM to purchase
‘The Mummy’

Werewolf Of London
Si NPN Tone Bender MkII
doing a few movie monster builds for Halloween this year, stay tuned for more tricks and treats
the Werewolf contains a pair of NOS Si Texas Instruments BC183 transistors plus a 2N5088, giving this unit a bit less gain than some TB2s but is incredibly warm for a silicone fuzz and cleans up beautifully on the guitar volume pot as well, very pleasing even breakup and sustain but still with a good dose of that classic velcro rip
the Werewolf Of London is available, DM
demo video tomorrow 🐺
