💙 We love seeing our community come together.

A big thank you to our amazing transportation team and school partners for making sure students can safely get to school every day—rain, snow, or shine.

These buses represent more than transportation.
They represent opportunity, consistency, and care for our students and families.

Proud to be part of a district that puts kids first. 🚌

Aurora Central High School Parents in Action organized a wonderful clothing donation drive for our families. 💙

Families attending tonight’s Parent/Teacher Conferences are invited to browse and take items home.

Special thanks to Estafania Martinez, our incredible Family Liaison and proud former APS student, for helping make this possible!

When our community comes together, our students thrive

A day of compassion, community, and quiet impact at ESC 4 Aurora Public Schools

This week our ESC 4 teams came together to launch something simple but deeply meaningful: FRESH @ ESC 4 brown-bag food distributions for families facing food insecurity.

What you see in these photos is so much more than bags of rice, tortillas, eggs, fruit, and vegetables.
It’s teamwork.
It’s cultural relevance.
It’s dignity.
It’s connection.
And it’s the belief that every family deserves good food on their table and a community that truly sees them.

From assembling bags with care… to personalized outreach… to direct distribution in the parking lot, complete with hugs, smiles, and tears of relief—our staff showed what compassion in action looks like. I’m so grateful for every single person who stepped in to help, lift, carry, and love our families through this moment.

Food is universal. Love is universal.
And when schools wrap around families like this, the impact reaches far beyond the classroom.

Thank you, ESC 4 team.
You showed up, you showed heart, and you made a difference. ❤️

Colorado districts, one team.

When we share ideas, data, and heart, our students win. Grateful to work shoulder-to-shoulder with neighboring districts to strengthen food security, Medicaid access, mental health supports, and family outreach.
Together → faster, smarter, kinder. 💚🤝

Professional Development with Purpose! Our team came together today to strengthen not only our skills, but our sense of purpose, belonging, and collaboration. It was a powerful reminder that when we pause to connect, listen, and reflect together, we grow stronger, as individuals and as a department.

We’re proud of the work we do and the heart we bring to serving APS students, families, and one another.

Team Spotlight | Gratitude in Action 🌟

This week, we received a heartfelt note recognizing Raquel for her incredible support of one of our YPSP students and their family. From guiding them through Medicaid applications and resource connections to being present at an important appointment—Raquel’s compassion and consistency truly shine.

The student shared how comfortable and seen she feels when working with Raquel, a reminder of how much empathy and trust matter in our work.

In times when so many families face uncertainty, Raquel brings not only solutions but also hope and humanity. We are deeply grateful for her kindness, professionalism, and the light she brings to our community every day.

👏 Thank you, Raquel, for representing what our APS Medicaid team is all about—care, connection, and courage.

Today at the CASBO Fall Conference 2025, I’m reflecting on the power of empathy in leadership.

One takeaway that stood out: Empathy isn’t just about kindness—it’s about creating space where people feel safe to speak up and where teams can truly thrive.

As Alfred Adler’s quote reminds us:

“Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another, and feeling with the heart of another.”

In education and public service, this isn’t optional—it’s essential. Whether it’s a custodian noticing a teacher’s exhaustion, or a superintendent understanding the daily challenges staff face, empathy strengthens our work and our communities.

I’m grateful for the chance to learn, share, and connect with colleagues who are leading with heart and purpose.
