Our last food donation of potatoes came from a 225 square foot plot amended with mycelium filled wood chips, compost, ammonium sulfate, and elemental sulfur. They were also grown with love and the vines were happily eaten by rabbits, grasshoppers, Japanese beetles, and other critters. This plot yielded 170 pounds of Russet potatoes. We are thrilled we were able to make this donation to our local food bank.

Our resident red-tailed hawk has fortunately kept our rabbit population in check and unfortunately, it has eaten too many garter snakes. Nevertheless, we love seeing this majestic creature regularly visit our garden.

Happy to harvest and deliver the garden's first crops of the season to our local food bank. 12.5 pounds of garlic and 18 pounds of carrots.

Boulder County has launched a new Wildfire Mitigation Grant Program. Grant funds will support forest and grassland wildfire mitigation projects in Boulder County
Boulder County grant program funding will provide match and leverage to other wildfire mitigation and planning grants. Application period ends December 11, 2023.

Our resident hawk has been out and about hunting mice and other creatures.

On Saturday September 30, staff from CSU Extension Boulder County attended the Marshall Together event at the Ascent Community Center in Superior, Colorado. This was done in solidarity with those who lost their homes in the . Tools and trees were distributed by Colorado Tree Coalition and Resource Central and other members of the community were there to support folks who lost their homes in the fire. Our staff helped with information on tree/plant selection, planting, pests, rebuilding their yards, etc.
