From Reyna Matsler (high school art teacher) and the DCHS Art Club- We are DONE! What a way to show resilience transforming this wall! I’m am so proud of all of you for showing up even when it was hard, wind or shine. You know what it takes and see the beauty with every brush stroke you place. My seniors, I hope you look back at this moment and realize you left something beautiful in our town. I will miss all of you as I step down as sponsor, but I know you all will do wonders! ❤️

What a great way to wrap up an art class! Instead of throwing away all the art work (sorry, parents, but that’s what they do with most of it) students chose which pieces to keep intact, and which pieces to cut down for an “explosion book”. This helped us save the best parts of our efforts and create a unique memory book of our year.

No worries, parents, as full versions are still located on Artsonia for access any time.

The community Mental Health Awareness Art Show, sponsored by Dawn Irons and Hope Harbor Counseling, was a success. So many stories and experiences were included in the different art pieces, along with examples of art techniques and practices meant to transform stress into calm. Several art pieces from the high school and junior high artists were included.
