Thursday night's Learning Technologies Career Panel was a great success! The Learning Technologies Student Association (LSTA) hosted some of our esteemed alumni as keynote panelists: Dr. Aubrey Kurteff (Learning Technologies Architect, Meta), Ms. Justine Ramos (Data Center Training Coordinator, Apple), and Dr. Yunnie Liu (VP of Revenue Enablement & Field Marketing, Aquent President of Global Business Operations, Bartlett International Consulting).

Doctoral students Shadarra James and Abbie Teel did an excellent job hosting and moderating, and we extend special thanks to Dr. Debbie Cockerham, faculty advisor of LSTA. The panel provided over 30 attendees with informative insights and valuable real-world experiences from experts in the field.

Congratulations to Learning Technologies student Abbie T. on being awarded the Texas Higher Education Texas Leadership Research Scholarship!

The Texas Leadership Research Scholars (TLRS) Program, launched in Fall 2024, is a Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board initiative that combines a prestigious research scholarship with a statewide leadership development experience. Designed for outstanding doctoral students who demonstrate both research excellence and exceptional leadership, TLRS provides financial support along with mentoring, networking, and professional opportunities to help scholars thrive and lead in their fields.

Abbie, a second-year doctoral student in Learning Technologies, is honored to be among the scholars recognized through this program. Her research focuses on the intersection of technology and the environment, the evolving role of technology in libraries, and AI literacy and ethics. She is mentored by her major professor, Dr. Scott Warren, her AGF, Dr. Marcus Childress, and committee member, Dr. Deborah Cockerham.
