Happy Wednesday!!!

Tonight we are continuing our RC car workshop. If you were not able to attend last meeting, no problem! You can jump in to help with a current group, or start from scratch.

This will be a full instructional tutorial, so although teams will be working in sections on their own, we will be walking around to help and give instructions for every part of the project.

We will also be having guest speakers from the SGA to come and speak about their campaign. This will be a great opportunity to speak to some of the student leaders of our school and gain experience from them.

The RC car project we are doing today is also something we encourage everyone to put onto their resumes, LinkedIn’s, etc. which will help show potential employers what experience you have under your belt.

Hope to see y’all there!!

Location: Discovery Park Room B185
Time: From 7:00pm - 9:00 pm
Date: 4/1/26

Batteries are charged, supplies have arrived, trophies are made, arduinos are programmed, electromagnets are energised, the field is built.... We are ready for Botathon, are YOU?
See you all tomorrow, 9am, DP Main Hallway! ❤️

03/27/2024

T-3 days to Botathon! This Saturday, 9am to 7pm at Discovery Park (Main Hallway)!!

For those who have not participated in botathon before, it's an entry-level, no experience required, and completely free, robotics competition where you just need to turn up in the morning, we'll provide you with robot kits, food, mentorship, teammates (if needed) and you'll spend a few hours designing and building your robot, in the afternoon/evening the tournament starts where you compete with the robot you built.

This year you'll be facing off in a capture-the-flag competition! Each robot will need to grab blocks from the opposing team's side of the field (through a tunnel) and bring them into a capture zone on your home side of the field. At the end of each round, you'll be scored on how many of the opponet's blocks you captured. There's some extra twists and turns in there, and I might even throw in some metal blocks and electromagnets if we want to get fancy with it.

If anyone has questions, always feel free to hit me up!! There's some more event specifics at https://www.untrobotics.com/botathon/ too (you can also pre-register on that site if you have any dietary restrictions/disability accommodations).
